As a teaching author, I visit schools and summer camps, facilitate workshops at my local college, speak on panels, and critique at conferences. I look forward to working with your organization to create the visit that fits your needs.
Some of my most-requested presentations include:
Read and wonder (For preschoolers and above) – This entertaining session includes readings from my books and lively interactive exercises.
From brainstorm to bookshelf (Grades K-2 and 3-6) – I share the inside scoop on getting a book made, from start to finish.
Living like a writer (5-8 grades) – Let’s talk about the life of the writer, with all its pluses and pitfalls.
A full day’s visit includes up to 4 programs of approximately 60 minutes each. Sponsor’s expenses include honorarium, transportation, lodging and meals. Neighboring schools can arrange to share a day and split the cost.
I am happy to sign and personalize books before after my presentations. Most schools order through my publishers (who provide a discount) or from a local bookseller in advance of my visit.
